Frequently asked questions
Does Heartdays cost anything?
Heartdays is free, with every reminder and no limit on the number of birthdays. In return, it shows ads: a banner in the list and now and then a full-screen ad when you go back from an entry to the list or have saved a new entry, at most five times a day in total. Never when you open the app, never in notifications or widgets and never while you're sending your wishes. Premium is $3.99 a year or $11.99 once for life in the US (£3.99 or £9.99 in the UK, €4.99 or €12.99 in the euro area; the App Store shows the price for your country). It removes the ads and adds widgets, plus photos, prices and an overview of your gifts over the years.
I bought Premium. Why don't I see it?
In Heartdays, open Settings, then Premium, and tap Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought it with. What you've bought stays yours, on a new iPhone too.
How do my entries get to a new iPhone?
Through your iCloud. Sign in on the new iPhone with the same Apple Account, keep iCloud turned on and install Heartdays. Your entries arrive on their own after a short while, on your iPad too.
Why didn't a reminder arrive?
Usually notifications for Heartdays are turned off, or a Focus is holding them back. The app then shows a warning at the top. Allow notifications under Settings › Notifications › Heartdays.
Does Heartdays write to my calendar?
No, never. Your entries stay in the app.
Where are my birthdays stored?
On your iPhone or iPad and, if iCloud is turned on, in your own iCloud. We don't run a server and can't see them.
