Does the app work without signal?
Yes. Saving places, directions, routes and QR codes all run on GPS and data stored on your iPhone. Only the map needs a connection, because the map images come from Apple.
Why does it sometimes take a while to find my location?
Without a network connection, your iPhone has to get the satellite data on its own. The first time, this takes between 30 seconds and two minutes. Standing still with a clear view of the sky helps.
The arrow is pointing the wrong way.
Usually something is interfering with the compass: a magnetic case, a power bank or a metal fence. Walk a few steps and the arrow will follow your movement instead of the compass.
It says “Du bist da” (you've arrived), but I can't see my tent.
GPS can be a few metres off. That's what the photo and note are for. Each “Hier nachmessen” makes the saved location more accurate.
